K. Shardia Washington is a dynamic pediatric Occupational Therapist who received her Masters of Occupational Therapy from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 2010. She began her career working with adults in acute settings and then expanded her scope to pediatrics in 2014. Her BUBBLY personality and innate nurturing spirit has led her to help many clients overcome challenges and develop optimally. She is certified to practice Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) and has obtained her Sensory Integration Certification from the University of Southern California.
Her philosophy is that we are all unique individuals with the potential to flourish. The results driven model she uses encourages children to function more effectively as she sets expectations just outside of their comfort level.
By focusing on the whole child, from their breathing to their motor skills, her passion is to cultivate the strengths in each child, expand their boundaries, and to provide therapist led strategies in the home and daily routine of every family.
In addition, Shardia founded Cheer-tique, a company providing basic cheer instruction and skill building. Following her professional experience in the National Football League (NFL) and National Basketball Association (NBA), and 9 years as an Occupational Therapist. this experience led her to developing a fun filled program that links cheer with movement to support childrens physical, mental, and social development through cheerleading.
